Sheffield Fires, South Yorkshire Warmth โ€” Kiln-Dried Logs Delivered to Your Home

Ordering firewood in Sheffield shouldnโ€™t mean guessing at quantities or wondering whether the logs will suit your stove. FirewoodFund makes it easy to order kiln-dried logs online for delivery to Sheffield and across South Yorkshire, with options ranging from manageable bags and boxes to bulk bags, pallet quantities and crates.

Choose the species, quantity and log size that suit your fire and storage space, then enter your address at checkout to see the delivery options available.

Ordering Firewood for Sheffield Delivery Is Simple

1. Choose your firewood

Select the logs, pack size and quantity that suit your appliance, storage space and how regularly you burn, then add them to your basket.

2. Enter your delivery address

Add your Sheffield or South Yorkshire delivery address to see the delivery methods and charges available for your order.

3. Review your order and pay online

Check your basket and complete payment securely online. Smaller parcel orders are dispatched by courier, while eligible palletised orders allow you to select an available delivery date during checkout.

You can find more information about pallet access, delivery dates and receiving your order on our firewood delivery information page.

Kiln Dried Log Delivery - Sheffield & South Yorkshire

Logs for Sale with Delivery to Sheffield โ€” Choose the Right Quantity

The largest-looking package is not necessarily the most practical option for every home. When comparing firewood, consider how often you use your stove, how much storage space you have and how easily you can move the logs once they arrive.

Smaller bags and boxes can work well if you light your fire occasionally or have limited storage space.

For more regular burning, a bulk firewood delivery, pallet of bagged logs or a larger crate can reduce how frequently you need to reorder.

If you are stocking up for winter, buying a larger quantity can also make sense where you have enough dry, ventilated storage available.

Remember that loose-filled bulk bags and neatly stacked crates are measured differently. Rather than judging quantity from the outside dimensions of the packaging, use our firewood volume comparison chart to compare loose volumes, stacked volumes and approximate small-bag equivalents.

Kiln-Dried Logs for Sheffield Wood Burners โ€” Check the Size Before Ordering

Log length is one of the easiest details to overlook when ordering firewood online.

Our standard-sized logs are approximately 25cm long, with a tolerance of ยฑ10%, and are typically around 5โ€“15cm in diameter.

For larger fireplaces and wider stove fireboxes, selected large logs are approximately 35cm long, again with a ยฑ10% tolerance, and are typically around 8โ€“20cm in diameter.

Always check the maximum log dimensions recommended by your stove or fireplace manufacturer before placing an order.

Once you know the size you need, you can choose from different hardwood species and product formats. FirewoodFund offers options containing woods such as birch, ash and oak, alongside selected British kiln-dried logs.

The wider range includes both British and European-sourced firewood depending on the individual product, so check the relevant product page if the origin of the wood is particularly important to you.

If you are unsure which logs or quantity would work best, you can always contact FirewoodFund before ordering.

South Yorkshire Firewood Delivery โ€” Think About Access Before the Pallet Arrives

Sheffield has a distinctive landscape. Built across hills and stretching from dense urban neighbourhoods towards the Peak District and surrounding countryside, delivery conditions can vary considerably from one address to another.

This is particularly important when ordering larger quantities of firewood on a pallet.

Pallet deliveries arrive on a tail-lift vehicle and the pallet is moved using a pallet truck. A firm, reasonably level surface is therefore important. Gravel drives, soft ground, steep gradients, steps or restricted access can limit where the pallet can safely be moved.

Narrow residential streets and difficult access can also affect larger delivery vehicles.

If you think your Sheffield or South Yorkshire address could present a problem, provide as much access information as possible when ordering and check our delivery guidance beforehand.

Smaller parcel orders follow a different process and are dispatched by courier.

For eligible pallet orders, weekday delivery dates can be selected during checkout. Saturday delivery may also be available for an extra fee.

Buying Firewood in Sheffield? Check the Smoke Control Rules

Much of Sheffieldโ€™s urban area is covered by Smoke Control Area rules, so it is worth checking the requirements that apply to your property before burning wood.

Being kiln dried does not automatically mean that wood can be burned in every appliance within a Smoke Control Area.

Where Smoke Control Area restrictions apply, wood normally needs to be burned in an appropriately exempt appliance unless the fuel itself is authorised for use.

If you live in Sheffield, check whether your property falls within the relevant Smoke Control Area and make sure your stove and fuel combination complies with the current rules.

You should also follow the fuel and operating instructions supplied by your stove manufacturer.

This is separate from choosing good-quality dry firewood: kiln drying helps reduce the moisture content of the logs, but it does not override local Smoke Control Area requirements.

Firewood for Wood Burners โ€” Keep Your Logs Dry After Delivery

FirewoodFundโ€™s kiln-dried logs are supplied with low moisture levels suitable for burning, with the main range designed to meet the requirements associated with properly kiln-dried firewood.

Once your logs arrive, good storage helps keep them that way.

Store firewood somewhere sheltered from direct rain while allowing plenty of airflow around the logs. A purpose-built log store with an open or ventilated front is ideal.

Avoid completely sealing logs inside an area where moisture cannot escape.

If you regularly use a stove, our guide to choosing logs for wood burners provides further advice on selecting suitable firewood.

Every Online Order Supports Tree Planting in the UK

FirewoodFund was created with a simple additional purpose: every online order should contribute towards putting trees back into the landscape.

For every order placed through FirewoodFund, we donate money towards tree planting in the UK.

The contribution is made towards wider UK tree-planting projects rather than guaranteeing that one individual tree is planted for each order or that planting takes place within South Yorkshire.

You can learn more about the initiative and how your order contributes on our UK tree-planting page.

Sheffield & South Yorkshire Firewood FAQs

Is FirewoodFund a log shop in Sheffield?

No. FirewoodFund is an online firewood retailer delivering logs to Sheffield and South Yorkshire rather than operating a local Sheffield shop, depot or collection point.

Choose your firewood online and enter your postcode at checkout to see the delivery options available for your address.

Do you deliver firewood outside Sheffield?

Yes. Delivery is available across South Yorkshire and throughout most of mainland Britain.

This includes many addresses around Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster, subject to suitable access and the delivery options available for the individual order.

Can I burn kiln-dried logs in a Sheffield Smoke Control Area?

Kiln drying alone does not automatically make wood suitable for burning in every appliance within a Smoke Control Area.

If Smoke Control Area restrictions apply to your property, check that your appliance is approved to burn wood or that the fuel is otherwise authorised under the relevant rules.

What size logs should I order for my wood burner?

Start by checking the maximum log length recommended by your appliance manufacturer.

Our standard logs are approximately 25cm long, while selected larger-log products are approximately 35cm long.

If your stove has a smaller firebox, the standard 25cm option will generally be the more appropriate starting point.

What is the difference between a bulk bag and a crate of logs?

Bulk bags normally contain logs filled loosely into the bag, while logs inside crates can be stacked much more tightly.

That means the outside dimensions of two packages do not necessarily tell you how much loose firewood each contains.

Use our firewood volume comparison chart to compare the different formats more accurately.

Is a bulk bag of logs the same as a tonne of firewood?

No.

Firewood bulk bags are generally sold according to their loose cubic volume, not as a guaranteed tonne of wood.

The weight of firewood varies depending on species, moisture content, log dimensions and other factors.

Do I have to be at home for a pallet delivery?

Not necessarily, provided there is a suitable private location where the delivery can safely be left and appropriate instructions have been supplied.

However, the driver cannot guarantee that a pallet can be moved to a particular place such as a garage or log store.

Always check the delivery information before ordering.

What if my Sheffield road or driveway is steep?

Provide details when ordering if access is narrow, steep or otherwise unusual.

Pallet trucks require suitable firm and reasonably level ground, so steep slopes, gravel, loose surfaces, steps and soft ground can restrict how far a pallet can be moved.

How should I store kiln-dried logs?

Keep them sheltered from direct rain while allowing air to circulate freely.

A ventilated log store is ideal. If logs become wet after delivery, allow them time to dry again before burning.
