Product Volume Comparison Chart
This chart provides a clear comparison of our bulk firewood products by showing both loose volume (how logs are supplied) and stacked volume (the amount of wood once neatly stacked). This allows you to see the true quantity of usable firewood, not just the size of the bag or crate.
Loose volume appears larger due to air gaps between logs. When stacked, those gaps reduce, revealing the actual volume of solid wood. Showing both figures side-by-side ensures a fair, like-for-like comparison across all product types.
Approximate equivalents in small bags or nets are included to provide a familiar reference and help you choose the right option for your needs.
| Product | Loose (m³) | Stacked (m³) | Equiv Small bags / Nets (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.8 m³ Bulk Bag | 0.8 m³ | 0.48 m³ | Up to 29 |
| 4 × Barrow Bags | 1.1 m³ | 0.66 m³ | Up to 40 |
| 1.2 m³ Bulk Bag | 1.2 m³ | 0.72 m³ | Up to 43 |
| 1.6 m³ Bulk Bag | 1.6 m³ | 0.96 m³ | Up to 58 |
| Medium Log Crate | 1.42 m³ | 0.85 m³ | Up to 52 |
| Large Log Crate | 2.29 m³ | 1.37 m³ | Up to 83 |
| Extra Large Log Crate | 3.08 m³ | 1.84 m³ | Up to 112 |
The small bags or nets used for comparison are based on tightly packed log bags measuring approximately 25 cm wide × 45 cm long × 20 cm deep (9.8″ × 17.7″ × 7.9″). Each bag typically contains around 8 > 12 logs. Please note that individual log volumes can vary due to natural differences in log diameter and how logs split during processing. As a result, minor variation is always present across all firewood products.
