Logs for Sale with Delivery to Carmarthen & Across Dyfed

Finding the right firewood should be straightforward, whether you live in Carmarthen or further out into West Wales. Compare kiln-dried logs in bags, bulk bags and crates below, then order online for delivery to eligible addresses across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

Ordering Logs for Delivery to Dyfed in Three Simple Steps

  1. Choose your firewood. Select the species, pack size, options and quantity that suit your fire, then add everything to your basket.
  2. Enter your delivery address. Check the available delivery options and charges. For a pallet order, select an available delivery date; smaller courier parcels are normally dispatched on the next working day rather than booked for a chosen arrival date.
  3. Check the total and pay online. Review your basket and delivery details before completing your order securely.

Firewood for Carmarthen: Find the Right Format Before You Buy

A few fires at the weekend call for a different order from a stove used every evening. Look beyond the price on the product card and consider how you will handle and store the logs once they arrive.

Bags and Boxes for Occasional Fires

If you want a manageable top-up rather than a winter’s supply, start with our bags of kiln-dried logs. Boxes and smaller multi-bag packs are easy to divide between storage spaces. Some bundles also include firelighters, so check the contents rather than comparing pack prices alone.

Bulk Bags and Barrow Bags for Regular Use

The bulk firewood range includes loose-filled 0.8mยณ, 1.2mยณ and 1.6mยณ options. Choose around the frequency of your fires and the space available for a covered log stack. Barrow bags divide a larger volume into more manageable bags, although the complete order still arrives on a pallet.

Log Crates for People Who Like to Compare Stacked Quantities

Crates are an alternative to loose-filled bags, with the logs packed in an organised stack. They can be useful when you prefer a particular species or want a larger supply in one delivery. Check the dimensions of the crate and leave enough room to unpack it safely.

Kiln-Dried Logs Across Dyfed: Choose the Wood That Suits Your Fire

Not every log burns in quite the same way. Birch tends to catch readily and gives a lively flame. Denser hardwoods such as ash and oak are often chosen for more sustained heat once a fire is established. You can also choose mixed-hardwood bags or individual-species crates, depending on the product currently available.

FirewoodFund’s range includes British and European-sourced logs. For a clearly British option, consider the British kiln-dried logs range, which includes larch. Larch is a softwood, not a hardwood; it can be a good choice when you want responsive heat and easy ignition. Check each product page for its actual species, origin, moisture information and certification instead of assuming the whole range has identical specifications.

For stove-specific guidance, see our logs for wood burners advice.

Check the Centimetres as Well as the Cubic Metres

The size of each log and the quantity in the package are different things.

Our standard small logs are approximately 25cm long, with a length tolerance of ยฑ10%, and generally 5โ€“15cm across at the widest point, also with a ยฑ10% tolerance. Selected large logs are approximately 35cm long and 8โ€“20cm across, with the same tolerances. Allow for these variations and follow your appliance manufacturer’s maximum permitted log dimensions; a large crate does not necessarily contain long logs.

Volume needs just as much care. A 1.2mยณ bulk bag is measured as loose-filled firewood and is shown as approximately 0.72mยณ when stacked. A medium log crate, by comparison, is approximately 0.85mยณ stacked. The firewood volume comparison chart puts the main formats on a comparable basis. A bulk bag is not a guarantee of one tonne of timber, because wood weight varies with species, size and moisture.

Carmarthen Streets, Tywi Valley Lanes and the Practicalities of Delivery

Carmarthen sits at the western end of the Tywi Valley, with larger roads through the valley and smaller routes reaching villages and scattered farmsteads towards Llandeilo and Llandovery. That geography matters when the order is a pallet rather than a courier parcel.

For a town address, think about where a lorry can stop and unload safely. For a property down a rural lane, check access width, turns, gradients and the surface where the pallet could be lowered. The same considerations apply to more remote addresses elsewhere in the historic Dyfed area, including parts of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

Bulk bags, crates and larger bagged orders normally arrive on a tail-lift lorry. The driver lowers the pallet and uses a manual pallet truck where conditions allow. Delivery is generally kerbside: a pallet truck cannot normally cross grass, gravel, soft ground, steps or steep slopes, and placement near your log store cannot be promised.

Eligible mainland pallet orders include free weekday delivery, usually between 9am and 6pm, with an available day selectable at checkout. Saturday pallet delivery may be offered for an extra fee. Smaller parcels are normally dispatched on the next working day; parcel delivery is free for orders over ยฃ100, with a charge below that threshold. Any applicable delivery charge is shown during checkout.

Read the delivery information and access guidance before ordering. If the road to your address is unusually narrow or the unloading area is awkward, contact FirewoodFund with the details before arranging a large load.

Keep Kiln-Dried Firewood Dry After It Arrives

Kiln drying removes excess moisture, but even correctly dried logs can take on water if they are left exposed. The individual product listing is the place to confirm moisture content and Ready to Burn details; for example, the British larch bulk bags and selected ash crates specify moisture below 20%.

Move delivered logs into a sheltered, ventilated store as soon as practical. Raise the stack away from damp ground, protect its top from rainfall and leave the sides open for airflow. A delivery bag is packaging, not a permanent weatherproof log store.

Every Online Order Contributes to UK Tree Planting

Your firewood order also supports something beyond the next fire. FirewoodFund donates money towards tree planting in the UK for every order placed online. This is a contribution towards planting activity, rather than a claim that one tree is planted for each purchase or that planting takes place in Dyfed. You can read about the initiative on our tree-planting page.

Questions About Buying Logs for Delivery to Carmarthen and Dyfed

Can I Order Logs Delivered to Carmarthen Without Visiting a Shop?

Yes. FirewoodFund is an online retailer, not a local collection depot. Choose your product, enter your Carmarthen delivery address and review the options at checkout.

Does Dyfed Include More Than Carmarthen and Carmarthenshire?

Yes. The historic Dyfed area includes Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Delivery is available to eligible mainland addresses; enter your full postcode to check the options for your property.

Will a Pallet Lorry Reach a Rural Home Near Llandeilo or Llandovery?

It depends on the specific road and unloading area. A narrow lane, tight bend or unsuitable surface can prevent a safe delivery. Describe any restrictions when ordering, or ask us to review the access before you buy.

Can I Choose an Exact Arrival Time for My Logs?

You can select an available day for eligible pallet deliveries, but not a guaranteed arrival time. Weekday pallet deliveries normally take place between 9am and 6pm. Smaller courier parcels follow the courier’s dispatch and delivery process.

Is a 1.2mยณ Bulk Bag the Same as a Tonne Bag?

No. The 1.2mยณ figure describes loose-filled volume, not a guaranteed weight. It equates to approximately 0.72mยณ stacked on FirewoodFund’s comparison chart. The weight varies with the timber and its characteristics.

What Size Logs Should I Choose for My Wood Burner?

Check your stove manufacturer’s maximum log length and diameter first. Standard logs are approximately 25cm long; selected larger products contain approximately 35cm logs. Both have manufacturing tolerances, so leave enough space for a comfortable fit and correct airflow.

Do You Deliver to Caldey Island or Other Offshore Addresses?

Standard pallet delivery is designed for eligible mainland addresses and cannot be assumed for islands reached by boat. Please contact us before ordering for an offshore postcode so that availability and any additional arrangements can be checked.

Are Your Logs Grown Locally in Dyfed?

We do not claim that the logs are grown or stored locally. FirewoodFund offers British and European-sourced firewood, depending on the selected product. Check the origin information on the product page if provenance is important to you.
