Our sustainably sourced logs have been kiln dried to reduce moisture. Less moisture means more heat output, a cleaner burn and ultimately means you need fewer logs.
50x bag pallet of British kiln dried logs for immediate burning on all wood burning appliances.
Our 50-bag pallet of British kiln-dried logs is ideal for immediate burning on all wood-burning appliances. This is a handy-sized pallet and is more compact for delivery than the larger 80-bag pallet. The advantage of the small bags is that not only are they easy to carry into storage, which must be dry, but they’re also convenient for carrying into the house when needed. We would recommend 6 boxes of kindling and 2 boxes of 50 Flamers natural firelighters for this size bag.
What’s in the bags?
Standard length kiln dried logs that will fit 99% of wood burning or multi-fuel stoves. Log length = 25cm logs (9.8 inches). Tolerance on length is +/- 10%. Log diameter = 5 -15cm (2 – 6 inches) measured across widest point of the log.
Our bags contain a mixture of British hardwood sourced from a responsible woodland thinning process. The species of wood that we typically source includes Ash, Beech and Oak. We do not target specific wood species for the purpose of sustainability. All logs have to pass a quality control check before being dispatched.
Why kiln-dried wood?
Kiln-dried logs provide you with the ultimate burn quality with maximum heat output. The kiln drying process removes most the moisture, resulting in less than 20% moisture content – perfect for burning. Burning kiln-dried logs will ensure your stove glass is kept clean and will prevent a build-up of soot or tar in your chimney or flue. Because you get so much heat output, you will need fewer kiln-dried logs than if you were to buy seasoned logs, thus providing you with great value for money.
Kiln-dried logs also provide you with a consistent product that you can rely on every time, unlike ‘seasoned logs’ which can be inconsistent in terms of their moisture content due to the natural and varied drying process. The standard length of 25cm kiln-dried logs is recommended by stove manufacturers to fit 99% of wood-burning or multi-fuel stoves.
