Kiln-Dried Chunky Hardwood Logs For Immediate Burning & More Heat
Extra thick logs are much chunkier than standard logs and will create a long-lasting fire. Chunky hardwood logs are ideal for large stoves, open fires, pizza ovens, and firepits. These logs are safe for use in DEFRA-approved stoves and may be used in a smoke control area.
This best-performing firewood gives fantastic results every time. Kiln-dried extra thick logs arrive ready to burn and burn at a high temperature with a long natural flame.
Extra Thick Log Sizes:
Log Length: 25cm (9 ¾) inches). Tolerance on length is +/- 10%. Tolerance on length is +/- 10%.
Log Diameter: 10 -20cm (4 – 8”) measured across widest point of the log. Tolerance on diameter is +/- 10%
Our extra thick logs are suitable for large DEFRA-approved stoves and can be used in a smoke control area. These logs are kiln-dried; however, the added thickness may make the moisture content slightly higher than standard slimmer logs.
Please note: These extra thick logs go through the same kiln drying process as our standard-size firewood. However, the moisture levels are slightly higher due to the thickness of the wood. Some frequently asked questions about kiln-dried logs can be found on our FAQ page.
Firewood Delivered The Easy Way
Get quick, hassle-free large bulk orders delivered for free nationwide from Monday to Friday. Large bulk firewood orders will be delivered on a pallet for your convenience. We use an independent 3rd party pallet delivery company with a large truck with a tail-lift.
We recommend six Kindling Boxes and two boxes of 50 Flamers to go with our 1.6m3 Bulk Bag of Extra Thick Logs. Stack your logs somewhere dry with good airflow for the best results.
Note: The driver will always attempt to place the pallet in the most convenient location possible. However, the driver may need to modify your delivery if access isn’t adequate. For example, narrow entrances, uneven surfaces, parked cars, or moderate inclines may restrict access to your requested drop-off point. Please let us know if you anticipate delivery barriers when placing your order. You can include any issues in your delivery note. We will do our best to solve any obstacles.

Get your blaze off to a fantastic start. All of our kiln-dried hardwood logs are of the highest quality. We offer a mix of hardwoods, including Ash, Beech, and Oak, rather than targeting one specific wood species. We do this to help boost our sustainability efforts and reduce the impact on our woodlands. All logs must pass a quality control check before being dispatched for delivery.
Should You Use Kiln-Dried Hardwood Logs Over Seasoned Logs?
Use kiln-dried logs for the ultimate burn quality with maximum heat output. Kiln-dried hardwood logs burn more efficiently than seasoned logs because more moisture is extracted during drying. Less moisture in firewood means less water needs to be boiled away through steam before the heat can be generated. Kiln-dried hardwood logs have less residual water trapped inside, making them ignite quicker, often with less kindling. Less moisture also means less smoke, so kiln-dried logs burn cleaner and emit fewer fine particles into the atmosphere. The hot kiln-drying process also destroys residual pesticides, mold, and invasive pests.
Kiln-dried firewood also offers guaranteed consistency. Seasoned logs vary due to the natural drying process, while kiln-dried logs are held in a temperature-controlled environment to ensure the same results every time. The drying process removes most of the moisture bringing the core content below 20%.
